What is a spondee? Allow us to explain...

Etymology:

Middle English sponde, from Middle French or Latin; Middle French spondee, from Latin spondeum, from Greek spondeios, from spondeios of a libation, from spondē libation, from spendein to make a libation; from its use in music accompanying libations; a metrical foot consisting of two long or stressed syllables

Date:14th century.

           We are two stressed syllables originating from the same word.
            We like libations. 
              We love music.
 We are not kids, but we are not old. We have kids, and they make us feel old. But we love therm, and each other, just the same. The music comes from life, the ups, downs and in-betweens.
 What we have posted thus far is a clearing out of our hard drives. The songs are all in various stages of undress. Some are merely sketches. Others are closer to the final vision. None have ever achieved the status of "Final" or "Done" They are demos. We have several newer songs, songs that we feel are much stronger than anything offered here. So for those of you who've been asking/hassling/threatening us to place more of our stuff up... here it is. (90% of the stuff that was at least 50% complete)
 Stay tuned for more background information on us and where we are/who we are/what we want from life... both of us will be contributing to this blog individually, and as a unit.

 We can say up front, and with utmost certainty, that we want music to contribute to the richness of our life; we want to regain the opportunity to make music with all our friends; we are looking to hit the "lottery" by licensing a song or two that will afford us the ability to shed the daily wage-slave grind and focus on a life built on art. So if anyone out there comes across a audio posting of ours and thinks it would be appropriate for a film or commercial by all means pass the word along. As we, the spondees, work out the bugs of our new home studio, we will be placing more songs on here. We look forward to and encourage  dialogue with friends old and new. We hope for a business relationships to come about, but the bottom line is we love these songs... we are really, really excited about the stuff coming soon and we want to share it all with as many people as possible... so enjoy and let us know what you think!
